PHOTOGRAPHER: CHRIS SEDGEWICK

Think sow's ear and silk purse in my case and this guy can do it.  The ever talented and very easy to work with CHRIS SEDGEWICK is not only an ace photographer but a bloody clever, and well respected, artist.  Excuse the pun, but no-one else was even in the frame for the job!(www.untitledphotography.co.uk)

He does the most gorgeous WEDDING pics - examples on his site and do have a look at the University College section to see some beautiful portraits of local people currently on exhibition at the University College Barnsley (the building to the right of the Town Hall with the steps leading up to the front door!)

Or, if you happen to find yourself in the Spencer Arms in Cawthorne, have a look on the walls - you'll see even more!

BOOKS AND BLOGS

LOVEREADING

What makes Lovereading unique is that they offer their members personalised guidance on authors and books they might enjoy, a short Opening Extract (only once approved by publisher or agent), just to whet the appetite of the reader, of all the books they feature which in turn really help them choose their next book.

MY MATE, MY MENTOR AND A FLAMING ACE WRITER (www.katelawson.co.uk)

I was introduced to Sue Welfare years ago as a damned fine writer and a true example at what to aim for.  She gave me time and advice and friendship since the first and I grew to love her to bits as much as I did her writing - which is as warm and funny as the bird herself.  Sue also writes as Gemma Fox and recently as Kate Lawson.  She runs writing courses, writes for radio, TV, plays, pantos - the talented sod and is one of the nicest people I know. If you like my stuff, you'll love hers, because she was a HUGE influence.

THE QUEEN OF ROMANCE (katehardy.blogspot.com)

I took my new mate Kate's books on holiday and fell in love with all the heroes.  For blinding Mills and Boon Harlequin escapism to wonderful climes with drop dead gorgeous Italians (and others... obviously I'm biased) keep up with the news at Kate's blog!

GEM OF A SITE! (beinglucydiamond.blogspot.com)

Fell for Lucy's debut novel  Any Way You Want Me after it was advertised as a Perfect Parter to my own on Amazon.  She's a smashing writer and I'm looking forward, very much, to book 2 coming along!

Domestic Bliss - Ladies who 'do'

I honestly can't remember how I coped without the wonderful domestic services of Bronwen, who comes into my house like a good fairy once a week and works her magic.  Honest, reliable, immaculate - what more can I say except that every home should have a Bron - and now they can because she's expanded the business.

Gardening Greats

Finding someone that you can rely on to cut all those wild trees down and sort out your foliage was a nightmare, until I discovered Betty and Carol a few years ago   (AND they put male gardeners to shame)  Tel: 01226 205423 or their mobile no is 07966 445093.

MOGGY LOVERS- PLEASE CLICK HERE!

Over the years I've had some wonderful moggies and I got most of them from friends who run a cat rescue centre.

There's no nicer, kinder people that I could give support to than the volunteers at HAWORTH CAT RESCUE.  They have a no-kill policy but the charity has no central funding so support is crucial!

Please check out their lovely website (and help if you can!)
